You guys want to hear something funny?

The last time the Eagles came to Baltimore for a regular season game was in 1997. The final score of that game was a 10-10 tie, after both teams failed to score in overtime. Thought that was a little strange.

We need Mason this week, without him, our offense is just pure crap. I do not think there is one other Receiver in the NFL who can run a curl or out route better than Mason can. He creates so much space and has sure fire hands, which is very rare to have in this league when you have a QB who can rocket a football over 70mph at you.

How come over the last 2 seasons we have been so injured? I just dont get why these guys are just getting these season ending injuries year in and year out. It seems like there are not really too many other teams out there with the situation we are in now. 2 starting DB's DT, and about 4 starting O-Linemand are hurt and basically useless to us.

I hate to say it, but i think age is getting to us. Not with the O-Line, they are very young and things are not going their ways, but focusing on C-Mac. I am done with him. We cannot keep relying on him to be there for us each year, then him getting hurt and not finding out that he will be out for the season till after he misses about 4 straight games. I am just tired of it. I would like to keep Samari however, as I feel he will still be able to give us some nice support at the 2 spot or in nickel. I think C-Mac is still a top notch corner in this league, but when he is healthy, which seems to never happen now. Get rid of him and let him go to a veteran team if they want him. I could see a team like NE of course getting him or teams like San Diego, NYJ, and whoever. These 30+ year olds can no longer handle the the young talent of Wideouts that are out there right now. They might be able to cover them at times, but it seems it is forcing them to use their bodies beyond their limits. We cannot keep having him get hurt in week 5, keep telling us "we are watching his knee very closely, he will see this doctor this week then that doctor next week and we will have an answer for you soon," then what do you know, he is out for the season, AGAIN! Chris, your a great corner in this league I still believe and you have done wonderful things for this franchise since you became a Raven in 1998, but this is a new face we are trying to make, sorry bud, but we need to get someone about 7 years younger than you are.

I say cut C-Mac, Corey Ivy, and Derrick Martin. I am not sure how you guys feel about that, but they havent done much for us this year Ivy and Martin's contracts are up this year and C-Mac is just phucking us over. We should try to stick our hands in the Free Agency Market for a good young corner out there like Phillip Buchanon, Dunta Robinson, Gamble, or that Ashomugha guy from Oakland, but he will likely be franchised seeing as they just got rid of Hall. All these guys are under 28 years old and still play decent football. And when you add any sort of talent alongside Ray Lewis, good things will usually happen. Then we go into the draft and use 1 or 2 of our first day picks to add some more young depth to our secondary.

Again, the WR position is still a weakness, as all of us in here are stating how terrible we are if Mason is not in pads on Sundays. This team is focusing too much on the interior of both sides of the ball, when our 2 main weaknesses are clearly on the outsides. Again, I think a clear answer for us is to try and get our chops wet in the FA market. The one thing that stands out with FA Receivers is the fact that TJ Hooshmazode is going to be a free agent, and after this weeks nap time and verbal scuffle with Marvin Lewis, it doesnt look like Ocho Cinco can any longer commit himself to this team. As much as I hate TJ, if we want to get him, fine, but he is not making us any younger, as he is 33 years old. Chad I would gladly take, he is one of Ray's best friends and I would hope he would show us he wants to use his vast amount of talent on a team that constantly wants to succeed.Yea, we have to re-sign Ray and Suggs, which will probably cost us some good money, but WR and CB are 2 positions we need to look at and try to add some EXPERIENCE along with young rookie talent. With the Rookie talent, of course Crabtree is our ideal guy to get, but it might mean making a trade involving our 1st, 2nd, and like 4th round pick to move up to top 10 or even top 5. That is unrealistic that we would do it because we need some more youngins on this team. So again, look at some of the guys in the 2nd round, as there will surely be some talent there at Wideout. And oh yea, at tonight's Terps Basketball game, I will make sure to scream CRABTREE at Bisciotti as much as possible. Maybe some other things as well.

Sure you can say our O-Line is a weakness right now, but at least we have guys who are stepping up, when needed, opening holes and protecting Joe, as he was sacked once last week against a top 3 blitz package in NYG.

As for the Eggles game this week, I do not see too much happening for them. Westbrook is great, but he is not physical enough to break through our front line, forcing him to run outside, where our speed at linebacker will catch up to him. I see McNabb making at least 40 passing attempts against us. Besides NYG, I do not get why teams do not throw 40+ times on us, it is going to be a test for us. They do not have the best talent at WR, but McNabb makes those guys good. Gotta get to him, get him outta the pocket, and force him to make some throws on his feet, which he is still very good at.

As for our offense, again, it is all going to start with our O-Line. We are unsure of the exact starting 5 this week and it could contain two rookies in David Hale and my boy Oniel Cousins. For the type of team and group of players we have, how come Cousins is the only guy on our team with dreadlocks? I look at Jax and see like 10 guys with dreads and it looks great in those black uniforms. Anyway, the line is going to have to hold up and let Joe do his thing. The Eggles have a good group of talent in their secondary, so it will be tough for our guys to get space on them, and if Mason is out, I don't even know what will happen. I think our boy Rice is going to have a big game this Sunday, i just keep hearing all these comparisons he has to Brian Westbrook, so maybe he will out shine him.

All in all, I am going to say a 27-13 victory for our boys.

FA

Adding anyone big in free agency would be very hard with signing both suggs and lewis.

That's not really true

We have oodles of cap space, especially if we cut Chris McCallister, and the first year of a contract is not the most cap intensive, they are usually backloaded.

re-sign Derrick Martin

as a RFA. He showed some promise, got injured, but hey, not necessarily going to be injured twice. He deserves a chance to compete in training camp.

My FA WR of choice would be Devery Henderson. He’s good at stretching the field, catches what is thrown to him, and is just all around a decent receiver that’s a lot cheaper and younger than TJ

The only big name FA I’d want is Nmandi Asomougha. He’s worth every penny.

I have to agree

Only big name FA I’d love to have, beside Suggs and Lewis, is Nnamdi Asomugha. I have no idea if that’s possible, maybe if CMac goes.

I’ll be depressed if CJ or TJ get signed, they’ll both be overpriced and they’re both old. Henderson sounds like he’d be the best value with the most upside and he’d be a great deep threat for Flacco. However, D. Williams will probably get resigned for cheap and he’s shown signs of life when he’s not hurt.

The Ravens need to go after jeremy maclin in the draft. His speed matched up with Flacco arm strenth will be a dangerous combo.
Next year in F.A., We will go after a CB. I would love to get Namdi in Baltimore, but the Radiers will likely Franshise him. I say we go after Chris Gamble. He reminds me of C-mac back in the day.

Gamble would be great

He returns punts and maybe even kickoffs as well. He hasn’t been an All Pro, but would be one with the rest of this defense in front of him. The Raiders will franchise Namdi and there are others we can go after, but C-Mac probably isn’t one of them, although I’d take him back for the right (meaning less) money.

Also

Look for us to go after WR and CB in the draft. We will need to save our money to re-sign Ray Lewis and T-sizzle. I think Bart will be cut the off-season and t-good will take over his spot with ez. The first two rounds will go WR, CB or CB, WR.

great..Cmac in his day was worth a few dozen personal foul calls and was easily baited..

C-mac was also a shutdown CB

Not sure its an option but

one thing i’ve heard that actually sounds pretty good is to franshise suggs again and trade him for boldin. Arizona wants a good linebacker and what would you trust the ravens to find a replacement for, a linebacker or a wideout?

by archon095 on Nov 22, 2008 5:28 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Heck, we produce linebackers like water.

Barnes, McClain, Gooden, and Jones are all clamoring to take the next step.

we should rent our linebacker scouting information out for more draft picks.

suggs still not producing pressure or sacks to make us a dominant d

by raven on Nov 23, 2008 11:27 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Cant put it all on suggs

He may be our best pass rusher, but he really isnt getting any help. Our D gets alot of pressure on the QB. The pressure we create result in ints. and not sacks. Thats one of the main reasons why we lead the league in Ints. this year.

i dont think that will happen

The way Boldin is playing, I dont think Arizona is gonna give him up. He is happy right now and he may get his money after this season. Also, suggs has been playing very well this season and i think he deserves his money and should stay here.

Our o-line has preformed very well this season. Their opening holes in the running game and are also giving Flacco some time in the pocket. We didnt allow one sack to the gaints pass rush and only 3 towards the Eagles. There is still improvment needed but it shall be done with the guys we already have.

ray not looking dominant..take that into consideration at contract time. no rush from D needs to be corrected or we will get picked apart by Mannings etc for a long time to come. screw squeeking into first rounds..

Ray is having one of his better seasons. He will definitely be in the running for the D.O.P. award and is leading all middle LB in votes for the pro bowl. Our D gets alot of pressure on the QB. The pressure we create result in ints. and not sacks. Thats one of the main reasons why we lead the league in Ints. this year.

we’re leading the league in ints because we’ve played the browns twice, begals once and a philly qb who’s thrown 7 in 7 quarters-4 to the Bengals. agree to disagree on pressure.

by raven on Nov 24, 2008 1:24 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

before reeds 108 yard int mcnabbs replacement drove right down the field and had our d on its heals..why do we keep playing pussy d with the game still in contention. i’ll tell you- NO PRESSURE at all.

by raven on Nov 23, 2008 11:29 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Only good drive of their day,

What are you upset about, no team in this league have ever played perfect football, or else they would allow 0 yards and 0 points. Consider the fact our DEFENSE did not allow a single point against one of the top 5 offenses in this league. Screw special teams, they are all just a bunch of special ed players.

Bend but don't break defense

Worked in 200, and not even comparing, but….

thanks god for ints and field position. we had 3 early picks and barely managed a score. our o looked terrible today. eagles d was good. our d was good. BUT, if we are going to beat Pitt, DC, Cowboys we need to get heat on the QB. It was a critical series when Kold went down the field with ease on us…fotunatly, idiot Andy Reid passed from the 1. It’s the prevent D that rears its head at critical moments….

Don't hate the playa

hate the game!

C’mon, they might not have played well at all this week or last (the Eagles), but they had been one of the top socring offenses, ranked in the top five this season. We shut them out offensively and also shut down the Texans when they were ranked 4th in offense, of course before Schaub was hurt. However, we have seven wins, which is two more than we had last year. We are a very good team and tough to beat at home. On the road is another story. However, with three of last five at home, we can make the playoffs and perhaps even get a home game, where beleive me, NO ONE will want to face us.
