Fantasy Football Q&A
Sorry for the limited posting the last week or two, I had a lot going on with work.
I want to make up for it by introducing a new feature. I''ve been an avid Fantasy Football player for the past five years. This year I have three teams, and am currently in first place in two of the leagues (One League has 14 teams and one has 12 teams, none of that 8 team league B.S.). If you don't believe me just ask Baltimore Beatdown poster MaLor on Tuesday after I spank him this week in our league(I can never pass up an opportunity to talk a lil' smack).
I'd like to start a new segment where readers can ask FF questions pertaining to trades, sit/start, waiver wire, Ravens players, roster evaluation or anything else you might need a second opinion on. Other members can feel free to answer questions as well, because while I am a nice fantasy player, I'm not always right. Hard to believe, I know, but true.
If we get some good feedback we will make this a weekly feature for all the Fantasy players out there (who doesn't play at this point?).
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

Here's one
My RB’s are Jamal Lewis, Fred Taylor, Joseph Addai, Dominic Rhodes, Michael Bush. I need to play two. Addai is injured. Bush is playing the Ravens and probably will do nothing. Taylor looks like a play as he’s up against the Browns in Jacksonville. That leaves Jamal in Jacksonville and Rhodes in Tennessee. I’m guessing Jamal. Any thoughts? My league’s scoring is sort of weird. We only get points for TD’s and AFTER a RB hits 100 yards. Thanks.

Those are interesting scoring settings
First off, like you said, take out Bush and Addai, for obvious reasons. So it’s between Taylor, Rhodes and Lewis. I don’t envy your options.
I’d take Jamal Lewis for sure as he has the most potential to score. I’d go with Taylor in the second slot since he has a much more favorable match up. Rhodes against the Titan’s is rough.
Idea...
Due to the bye week I have to chose between Fred Taylor or Kevin Walter for my flex spot. I just picked up BenJarvus Green Ellis and plan on starting him in the flex instead. They are playing the Rams, and he has a solid chance to score with Morris and Jordan out this week, and Maroney out for the year. If he is available, I’d consider starting BenJarvus along with Jamal if your not thrilled with starting Fred T.
Can you give yourself the C Meat award for this one??
Is it possible to be given your own award? You might deserve it this week. See you on sunday (and part of monday) you Micheal Fabiano Wannabe.
In our league
I was offered Justin Fargas and Joey Galloway for Jamal Lewis. I rejected it right away, feeling as if I was getting the short end of the deal. Isnt Galloway still out and Fargas! Come on. Good Decision??
Good Call
Word out of Tampa is Bryant has the #1WR spot locked up for the rest of the year. Also, Galloway’s game is predicated on speed so his injury will hurt him. That makes it basically Fargas for Lewis straight up, and you almost always go with the feature back who is guaranteed the majority of his teams carries. A rules I have for trades is I always have to get the best player in the deal to make it worthwhile. Keep Lewis.
Lewis is #1 option
for Cleveland. Neither Fargas nor Galloway are #1 options for their teams. Lewis will outscore both of them, not to mention the yardage difference. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but don’t trade Jamal!

Another question
I just heard that Pittsburgh’s Santonio Holmes was picked up on marijuana possession. He was also on the injury list. It is looking bleak for his being active for Sunday’s game. If so, my other options are Houshmandzadeh, Laveneas Coles (questionable for Sunday’s game), Devin Hester (Bye week) and Tony Gonzalez. I guess that leaves TJ, Coles (cross my fingers) and Gonzalez. We must start three and once again, our rules don’t give points for yardage until they get at least 100 receiving yards, but do get points for TD’s. Should I consider taking one of the guys off of the waiver wire, although according to our stats the only ones worth considering are Donnie Avery (Rams), Antwan Randle-El (’skins). Any ideas?

Wow, that sucks for Holmes.
I’d def role with T.J., and Gonzo. If your league permits it I’d make a game time decision on the last spot. If Coles plays, use him. If not, I’d go with Randel-El vs. Detroit. He has big play potential this week.
Question...
I’m in a competitive 14 team league and am currently in first place. It is .5PPR 1pt/10yd rec or rushing and 1pt/25 passing. 2pt bonus at 100yd/rec or rush and 300yd passing. 6pt all TD’s. Start 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 FLEX, 1 TE…. I am set at WR and QB with my starters as Cutler, B.Marshall, R. Wayne, Calvin J., and D. Clark. My RB pool is what worries me. I have Thomas Jones, J. Stewart., D. McFadden, F. Taylor, Sproles and Torain. I am debating whether I need to make a move for a feature back, like Barber, or if my solid WR’s compensate for my RB’s. I offered Wayne and Jones for Barber last week and was turned down. He countered with Calvin, Jones, and Wayne for Barber and Bowe. I rejected it. Do you guys think I should keep working to make a deal, or hold tight with whats working and hope for the best? I’m leaning toward standing pat. Opinions?
Make a move towards a team with a bad record
Id say, look at the bottem half of the league, see who you think needs to add depth to their team, and give them an ok deal. If there is anyone worth giving up one of your solid wrs and jones or taylor, do it. I would stick with McFadden though, he will be getting a majority of the carries by seasons end and have some good games, but not this week! Stewart has done pretty damn good so far this year as well. He gets tds and good amount of yards, so stick with him. Try to get rid of taylor or jones, in my opinion.
Not me
See, I think Oaklan’s a pretty poor team and will usually be playing catch up. therefore, McFadden will continue to be overrated and certainly not the first year feature back that AP was with Minny last year. I’d definitely trade him and one of the others (Wayne) for Barber, but not Calvin, DMC and Wayne. Try to make a similar deal with another team for their feature back. I like Barber and with Romo out, more will fall to him to help their offense.

I want Barber
But he has a ridiculously tough playoff schedule. Since I will almost definitely make the playoffs, I’m not sure if I want to give up 2 starters for Barber who might not be any better then what I have when I need him to come through. I’ll look around and see what else is out there….
