Ask Jimmy from Music City Miracles

Hello Ravens' fans,

It is Jimmy from Music City Miracles.  I am here to answer any questions you have about the Titans.  It appears to me that these two teams are similar, and that we should expect an extremely physical game on Sunday.  It won't be quite the battle it was during the AFC Central days, but it will be close.

Please add any questions below, and I or another Titans' fan will be glad to answer them for you.

Jimmy

The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

Hey Jimmy

Very interesting game this week but I think we have the advantage with your strength in the running game. Again, we should be able to keep you under a 100 yards rushing and with the home crowd squeek out a 20-13 win. The Titans have always been a mirror for the Ravens except this year we got a whole lot better in the coaching department. You still have your over-rated coach. I haven’t really kept an eye on the Titans so I might be suprised but I can count on Fisher making a crucial clock management mistake just before half or the end of the game which we will take advantage of….He does it every year. Nice to hear from the Music City but…….we’re pissed after Monday night and ready to take it out on the ugliest uniforms in football.

Then you have to wait til November...

when you take on the Bengals again.

Go Titans!

Is the streak

100 yds rushing or a 100 yd rusher? If it’s the former I think this will be the week that we give up at least 100 yds rushing, but it won’t be to ONE back.

And I don’t think the TItans have the ugliest unis in football. To me, that goes the Packers.

One more thing..

Don’t mean to be a reply hog but I forgot that Collins can’t string together more that 2 wins in a row..I still see him as the guy coming out of the police station with blood shot eyes and a cheap cigar. He’ll leave M&T the same way. We get 2 pick’s and a fumble recovery. Flacco makes us forget about Monday with 2 TD passes and Ray Rice and McClaine give us 160 yards rushing. The Titan’s don’t score until the 3rd quarter and in junk time in the fourth. Fisher calls for a pass just before the half instead of running the clock out – we get the ball back and score on a bomb with 2 tics left.

I love Fisher! Especially the way he threw a Young kid to the wolves and destroyed his confidence. Way to take a bullet for you club…Give me a break…Billick was able to take some of the heat off Ray for a murder charge and Fisher can’t go to bat for a struggling QB? Ass.

2 TD passes? and 160 yds rushing?

I’m on your side and I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to see that this week, but you, friend, are a bit delusional.

I agree

While that would be awesome, it’ s a bit optimistic to expect 160yds rushing and two passing TD’s vs. the Titans. Maybe one or the other but I’d be happily shocked if they both happened.

Ray Rice and McClaine Are Smoking Mad

Rice and McClaine are true pros and after having to watch an injured McGahee go through the motions Monday want it bad. I think we see one bad ass performance from those two on Sunday. I think this is the ultimate Raven turnaround. I don’t think this team with it’s new blood will revert to it’s old ways. I think they will get better and Sunday will be proof. We now have young, hungry offensive guys pushing for time. We will only go up.

3-1 and alone at the top by 4:30PM Sunday. An yes we keep the Titans under 100 total rushing yards and we get to their 3rd string QB. Feeling real good about this one.

by raven on Oct 2, 2008 2:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Hey I'm all for it but...

I wouldn’t expect too much from Rice vs. one of the leagues top run D’s. He is a rookie without much in game experience and will be facing a nasty, nasty D. I think he will be great in the future but he hasn’t shown me enough to make me believe he will have great success against such a stout run D. If he does, I will be thrilled, as it will take a special player to have success as a rookie vs. that D, and will signal great things to come for Ray.

I'm loving it...

your insane predictions are entertaining. Be sure to be on the game thread this Sunday. ;)

Go Titans!

Hi Pinoy

I’ll be at the game Sunday (season ticket holder since first year ‘96) but I’ll blog to ya that night. Man we need this win BAD. Unbelievably, with the Browns and Bengals dead in the water we have a legit chance at the playoffs. I think we are better than the Steelers and will match up better over the season with like opponents. The Raven’s with a rookie QB could win the division. All we need for Tenn. is a W. You have 4. 4-1 is fine. 2-2 ain’t. I think away you might squeek this game out in Tenn. but home at M&T you have to give it to us. Who do you think was better Monday night us or the Steelers?

I want the Ravens to win the division...

and beat the hell out of Indy, Jags and Houston. I wanna met you guys again in the divisional playoffs.

Go Titans!

Kerry Collins has won 3 games in a row.

Maybe you should “keep an eye on the Titans” before you start talking nonsensical trash.

Who watches the Titans?

Whatever..it’s all smoke and mirrors down their. Welcome to a real game. Parade your journey man QB around but he is a hit away and will give everyone an INT. I think every player in the league has 2 or 3 INT balls in their club room. Young should be playing but you hillbillies drove him crazy. Put your flame red wig and cartoon sword away, climb into your Model T and head back into the hills Titan fan. Welcome to the Music City Miracle Whip Ass brought to you by Raven’s D.

Chill Man

There is a time and place for biased smack talk and conjecture but now is not one of them. Try to remain as objective as possible especially when people from other SBN sites are kind enough to come here to answer questions, as I and others would like them to continue doing so. Thanks

by DT711 on Oct 2, 2008 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions

Please dont diss Fisher

Jeff Fisher is one of the best Nfl coachs in the league. If he was fired by the Titans last year, the Ravens would of been all over him. The guy knows what he’s doing and has the respect of not only his players, but all the players and coachs around the league.
You say he threw vince young into the wolves. Didnt they go 8-8 that year and then 10-6 the next, not to metion a play-off berth. Jeff Fisher knew what he was doing and he still does. Their team is 4-0 right now so we really cant talk to much junk about him.

Well

I have done the “Ask Jimmy” thing 3 weeks in a row, and this is the first time it has turned into this crap. I put this post here for you to ask any questions you might have about our team not listen to you tell us how much you hate them.

Relax..

Sorry Jimmy…didn’t know the whole invited guest thing. Being new to the blog there is a lot to learn. I was unfortunatly the first one to reply to you and did not realize your place on here -totally uncalled for. But don’t mistake a little good natured ribbing for malicious intent. Spice is nice. In all seriousness, I am most concerned about your DB’s. Can you tell me about them and were do you think we can beat them. Deep or short. Do they play off the receiver or like to jam. With D. Mason I hope they play off because we love to hit the short ball control patterns. I think our HB and FB play will keep the LB’s drawn in. You will notice our obvious lack of a deep threat. Also, who’s your big DB bruiser? Thanks.

by raven on Oct 2, 2008 4:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Yea, I apologize Jimmy

Raven, If you have facts or questions to back up your feelings then more power to you, but as of now it is just turning this thread to crap. Jimmy came here to answer serious question, not listen to our biased opinions…

Jimmy,
I have respected the Titans D very much for the last few years. In my opinion Haynesworth plays a huge role in what you guys do. I remember some crazy stat from last year where the Titan gave up 80 yards or so, less against the run with him in the lineup. Is he that important to your D, or were those numbers skewed in some manner (other injuries, scheme)? Does he look as dominate this year as he was in 07’? Also can you tell me a little bit about Cortland Finnegan? I’ve heard great things about him, but know little else then what I’ve heard through mainstream media. Thanks again and sorry for the earlier BS in this thread.

Apology on the way

Yeah..it was funny writing the smack but if I’m looking in from the outside offense may be taken. Welcome Titans fans, Gramsey and Jimmy, and the truth is..I haven’t really paid much attention to the Titans. I’ll do some research and be back on here tonight with an honest breakdown. All I had today was good humored smack. I have well and septic too. DT711 thanks for calling me out..well deserved but i needed the fire to get ready for Sunday. I went humble pie into Monday night and we lost. Change the karma. But I am still predicting a Ravens win. There has always been something about the Titans that just doesn’t scare me. They just don’t bring the juice like top teams. Being humble (which seems to be todays objective) I have to say I just don’t know these Titans. But I will…..

by raven on Oct 2, 2008 4:15 PM EDT up reply actions

Haynesworth

Yes, he was that important to our defense last season. Those numbers are right on.

Things are a little bit different this year. He is still the most important part, but there isn’t as big of a drop off as there was last year. His play this season has been just as dominant this year as it was last.

Finnegan is fast becoming a fan favorite in Titan Nation. He is a physical corner that plays the run well, and he can flat out fly. He also isn’t afraid to get in the face of anyone on the opposing team. Finne is the type of guy you love if he is on your team but hate if he isn’t.

Is his play totally unexpected

Or did he show flashes last year that he might something special? Thanks

by DT711 on Oct 2, 2008 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions

How do Titan's fans feel about the Vince Young Situation?

I am a big fan ever since his first Rose Bowl performance but obviously he is having issues. Would you like to see him play again this season? Next season? Ever again in a Titan’s Uniform?

I feel he has unbelievable talent but being the MAN his whole life has shielded him from being able to take criticism. Do you think he will ever mature to the point where he can lead the Titans to a Super Bowl?

by DT711 on Oct 2, 2008 3:31 PM EDT reply actions

I would like

to see him get another shot, and I think he can will. He has some special skills that you can’t teach, but he has to learn what it takes to be a quarterback in the NFL.

Your last question is the one that causes the most debate over at MCM. Personally, I don’t THINK he every will. It’s not impossible, but my opinion now is that he doesn’t have what it takes mentally. I sure hope I am wrong though..

Titans Blogger at Music City Miracles

by Jimmy on Oct 2, 2008 3:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Yup

That’s what I was expecting. I hope we are all wrong and he gets his issues straightened out because he is a special talent and I think he could do amazing things if he becomes the player and leader he can be. Thanks again.

Great content guys

Jimmy, thanks for stopping by. Raven, thanks for accepting some humble pie. All I ask as Administrator of this site is fair and non personal opinions. Trash talking is okay to an extent, although it depends on the topic of the posting. Usually its better to talk the trash after you win a win-able Monday Night Football game, not after we give it away in a typical Boller-fashion! So then if, I mean when we win Sunday, then we can all return and talk the talk, but let’s wait until after we walk the walk.

Also, head on over to Jimmy’s Titans’ site (www.MusicCityMiracles.com) to check out his posts and their fans responses. Join in, but respect his blog and represent Baltimore Beatdown with dignity! Thanks!

Jimmy

what exactly is going on with the back 7 of the Titans’ defense. I knew Vanden Bosch and Haynesworth were dominant, but the Titans defense seems way better this year than just having a very very good defensive line. How does the back seven work? Who are the key players? And, out of curiousity, where has the Titans D struggled this season (or last season)?

by math_geek on Oct 2, 2008 8:15 PM EDT reply actions

Apology revoked

They sure like to call Ray a murderer on Jimmy’s site. People who write that type of unjustified crap really ruin the thread. Let’s stick to football and leave out the very personal attacks. Writing that garbage breeds a mean spirit and unless you were outside of the bar in Atlanta have no clue what happened.
