Ernie Wheelwright promoted to active roster
Ernie Wheelwright was signed from the pratice squad after the ravens placed Yanda and Gooden on IR today. I believe Wheelwright can be our own verison of the saints Marcus Colston. I looked at his combine records and they dont impress you at 1st glance. You then take a look at him and they recordings arent that bad for a guy his size.
He is 6'5, 215lbs. Runs a 4.50 40 yard dash and has a 36 inch vertical. He is also very strong being able to lift 215 pounds over 20 times. Hopfully this will give Flacco another target. He has a guy who he doesnt have to worry about throwing over his head because he will most likey go and get it. I really hope cam gets this kid involed in our offense soon because we can really use a big, tall possession receiver and red zone option.
As you can see, im pretty high on the guy. The only reason being is that this guy could help slove so many problems on offense. If he can come in and put up decent numbers this year, I wouldnt be surprise if we have a new star wideout next!
In other news, The cowboys strike a deal with the loins to trade for roy williams. The lions recieve the cowboys 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks i believe. We also signed over edgar jones form the pratice squad. He will play TE and also be a pass rusher on 3rd downs and what not. Chris chester will be moving back to guard.
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

hmmm...
Not to sure if we can jump to the point that Wheelwright is going to be a receiver in the same class at Colston yet, but hey, maybe he can contribute a bit. Just not to sure if he is going to jump right into the 4 spot right now. The move was likely to just fill the roster spots. I agree, he has great size and legitimate strength and speed for someone being that tall. Lets give him a try, why the hell not? The WR that I actually thought was going to be a huge impact this year was Marcus Smith, I went to numerous training camps over the summer, and he impressed me with a whole bunch of catches in the middle of the field. Where has he been? I know he was considered to have the worst hands int he draft by many of the experts, but who knows. Its always exciting to see a new group of talent contribute to our team. Be real cool if Ernie could put up some huge numbers, BUT, lets try to stay in reality that he most likely will not see the field, and if so, it will be veryyyy rarely.

Ernie Wheelwright?
Were going to Disneyland now.
He won’t see a ball. We spread the ball around like frozen peanut butter.

Wheelwright/Smith
Wheelwright is a huge target, but so was Clarence Moore (6’6") and where is Moore now? Marcus Smith has great hands. I saw him at training camp as well as interviewed him way before any of the main street media knew who he was (see Featured Stories for my interview w/ him – a real cool mature kid!). Smith had been injured early in the season but should be ready. I say put them in there and sit Clayton, as we have nothing to lose. As far as moving a LB (Edgar Jones) to TE, looks like a desperate move to me.
